The common mode voltage range for the ISL32450E through ISL32457E transceivers is up to ±20V, exceeding the RS-485 requirement.

The purpose of the cable invert function in the ISL3245 transceiver is to allow technicians to easily invert the polarity of the Rx input and Tx output pins by moving a jumper, changing the state of the invert pin. This function is beneficial in large node count RS-485 networks where some cable data lines may be wired backwards during installation, causing communication issues. The unique cable invert function in the ISL3245 transceiver maintains Rx full fail-safe function even when the Rx polarity is reversed, unlike competitor devices that may malfunction in such situations. Additionally, the extended ±20V CMR of the ISL3245 transceiver allows for operation in environments that could overwhelm lesser transceivers.
